The Darnd’st Du is a 5K Run/30K Bike/5K
Run through the countryside of San Marcos. It starts and finishes on
the Tanger Outlet Center property at Centerpoint Road. The 5K Run is an
out and back course on Centerpoint Road and the 30K Bike is a loop just
east of the center with a short 1.5 mile out-and-back ride in the middle
of the course. The bike terrain is bumpy at first then rolling & smooth
with a little bit of shade from miles 8 to 13. This is a USAT
sanctioned event and all USAT Duathlon rules apply: especially no wheel
suckin’, no headphones, no being on your bike w/o a helmet and no
elbowin’, bad mouthin’ or whinein’! POST-RACE Refreshments include a
summer BBQ w/ burgers, hot dogs and your favorite road kill. As well as
ICE COLD ONES of water and soft drinks. Register online at
www.darndstdu.com.
Speak Up For Kids
5K/Moe’s Better Half Marathon
The next 5K will be March 1, 2009
This event is a true community partnership
bringing together a 20-year half-marathon tradition and an inaugural 5k
race, all to benefit abused and neglected children in Central Texas.
The chip-timed races will be “two in one” with the half-marathon runners
taking off from the Tanger Outlet Center in San Marcos. The
half-marathon is on a rolling, certified course with some challenging
hills through the countryside east of the Center. The 5k (not
certified) runners will run an out-and-back over the first part of the
half-marathon course.
