“Our hope is that the foster care simulation brings the community together and inspires people to serve and support those that are involved in the foster care system,” CEO of CASA of Central Texas Norma Blackwell said of the event. “There is a need to increase our capacity for serving these children and families. This event will help give people the perspective and understanding they need to decide how they can best get involved.”

The Rotary Club of San Marcos hosted Court Appointed Special Advocates of Central Texas and raised $6,000 to support the nonprofit. The drive to collect funds came with a beard shave for one of its members who had not been clean shaven in a quarter century.
